Why isnt our country doing anything about the absurd oil prices? why can't all citizens collaborate something?

what we need to do is voice our opinions and make it imperative that we are not pleased. We just sit around and complain and take no initiative to do anything right. Corporate republican America is getting their way while we rely on our selected politicians to do something about it. Yet, as a matter of fact they are probably in on the entire epidemic as well. Its frustrating as a college student to know that with all our rights and resources nothing has been done. Why isnt our country doing anything about the absurd oil prices? why can't all citizens collaborate something?
Simple...slow down 5 miles below the posted speedlimit on the freeway 10 even....this works.

The oil barons will always have us by the balls unless we kick them in their balls. Why isnt our country doing anything about the absurd oil prices? why can't all citizens collaborate something?
How can you make oil cheaper? If one oil company lowered prices by 30 cents a gallon, they'd sell a bunch of oil, right? Except that everybody would lower their prices, too. In fact, there is a low price war every day.

Why doesn't somebody else form a new company that produces oil cheaper, like JetBlue airlines, or Costco markets? Well, they can't, and that's not the Republicans fault.

The environmental lobby believes that lower oil consumption is more important than anything else. In this case, they have made a choice for us, making new oil exploration, drilling, and refining so difficult that the prices must rise simply to reflect lower supply and higher production costs. No new oil company would survive the start up costs.

Sadly, your opinion doesn't matter to the environmental movement. They want what they want - and they don't really care whether your quality of life suffers as a result. And if you are poor, it hurts twice as much - higher gas doesn't mean that you have to buy a smaller car, it means that you can't afford to buy food, or make rent. Enviromentalists don't care about that, as long as they get what they want.

If you have a problem with gas prices you can start a petion but you need 15,000 signatures. I f you don't like that plan you might just have to deal with it.
Hmmm....well several views here we buy most of our oil from Canada, yeah big shock. And if we are guarding the company store then we should get the employee discount? The American companies are reporting record profits and shouldn't they share in our misery, or maybe since crude is up their profits will naturally increase. And didn't this happen back in the 70's as well so...is this really a big surprise? China and India are using more than ever...you can see it from many different views. I just pump and pay.
Oil is a non-renewable resource, for one. Also, our main supplier of oil we're currently at war with.
