Until I see him outside ';El Cheapo'; changing the numbers on the gas prices, I'll continue to assume, like I have with all presidents, that they don't control the price of oil or gas.Is Obama rewarding his buddies in the oil business by raising gas prices?
OPEC is raising prices by cutting production. Obama has done nothing to result in higher prices, but he should: He should add a 50 cent per gallon surtax to encourage people to conserve fuel. The money would pay for converting to alternate fuel. OR we can put all that money in OPEC's coffers instead of our own. Which do you prefer?
FACT: Most Democrats in gov't own Oil Stocks- Exxon was trying to force buying back the stocks from them- this is the war between Oil co. and Democrats- They just want part of the pie! They don't want them to drill where the oil is until they get more of the profits- Im sure they are working on that night and day!
People who are irrational enough to blame the President for gas prices will do it whether they are talking about George Bush or Barack Obama. Presidents don't raise gas prices. Oil importing and processing companies do that.

How is Obama rising gas prices? the only way HE could do this would be rising taxes on gas which would be a good thing if those revenues were used to fund research on other energy technologies.
Enron and Exxon executives sat on either side of Cheney on commissions discussing energy policy. I don't think that Obama has similar relationship with those industries.
