Is oil just high in price in the United States, or worldwide??

Just Curious.

Thanks. Is oil just high in price in the United States, or worldwide??
Worldwide. We could fix it if we didn't have to hear it from the radical left-wing socialists environmental freaks and we would release our reserves and start drilling and refining our own oil again. When I was very young I remember my dad complaining about gas being 25cents a gallon. Man, would that be a price to have again!!! Only 4 or 5 years ago, gas was 99cents a gallon now it is like $3.50 a gallon. We need to take a stand against the oil prices because that is what is truthfully destroying our economy. Basic economy 101, price to ship good very high, prices for those goods will be very much higher. No excuse for us to be paying for foreign oil when we have more than enough in our own country and tell all the middle east jerks and that freak Chavez what part of their anatomy they can shove their oil. It would stop them from getting rich off us and using our own money to wage war on us which is their game plan.Is oil just high in price in the United States, or worldwide??
The price of oil is pretty much the same anywhere on the world market. Its increase in cost is mostly down to increased demand and speculation by wall street trading and other stock market companies who have moved into oil in a big way because of the big profits that can be made In a very short time.

In the US gas prices are much lower than those commonly found throughout Europe, where extra taxes are added to the cost to support social welfare systems and to reduce Co2 emissions which all European countries are mandated by regulation to undertake.
Worldwide
It's cheaper in the US than it is in most of the world.

Of course, there are some places like Venezuela for example, where gas 10 cents a gallon. But in most of the western world, the cost is more than it is in the US.
We have had more increases in price in the US especially since the war in Iraq. and due to our slowing economy. But in all the countries I have been to most of them are way higher than our prices.
Gas is high worldwide due to many factors, especially supply and demand. It is not just a problem that occurs exclusively in the United States.
We are still incredibly cheap compared to Canada or Europe.
are you talking oil....or refinned gas...Oil is the same price world wide.....now gas is cheaper here in the US, always has been
Worldwide. I pay close to $7/gallon in europe.
World Wide and Europe's economies are taking bigger hits than ours.
It's cheap for OPEC nations.

Costs an arm and a leg for everyone else.
Worldwide.
Prices have gone up more in the US than in many parts of the world partly because of the falling dollar.

That is not to say the price isn't high in the rest of the world, but we've had a larger change in price.
