Out of a barrel of oil only a certain amount is made into gas for cars.


some is made into jet fuel


some into home heating oil


some into desiel fuel.





There is no direct corilation for the barrel price to price per gallon.


But as the barrell price increases yes the cost per gallon will increase.





Don't forget a large portion on the price of gas, at least here in the US are state and federal taxes.



it is not oil per gallon, it is gasoline per gallon, oil and gasoline are different.
You might notice that they abbreviate barrels BBL when they talk about price. That means British Barrels, which are 42 gallons.
