Even after subsidies Indians pay the highest oil prices in Asia, but still why indian oil companies report loss?

I think the govt provides import subsidies to get the crude, but tries to retrieve the same through levy of massive excise duty etc on the refined products - petrol diesel - which are passed on to consumers.. The state and central taxes and levies hike the cost of fuels and limits the Oil companies' margin as well..

It would be better if someone clarifies the logic behind the conflict in giving a subsidy at one end and levying massive duty and taxes on the other end.. and perpetuating the adverse impact on both oil companies and the consumers..Even after subsidies Indians pay the highest oil prices in Asia, but still why indian oil companies report loss?
companies report a loss when costs exceed profits. the notion that paying more in oil- presumably by taxes, wouldn't have any benefit whatsoever on an oil companies profit(s) and could even effect revenues for that industry. Last thing to note, your familiar with the 75% drop in the price since the summer for crude- right(?), if you're looking at quarterly reports they're outside that time frame..Even after subsidies Indians pay the highest oil prices in Asia, but still why indian oil companies report loss?
subside kerosene .Red tape .high salary.
Maybe they wouldn't want to make that information public.
